Arrived on time, good packaging. No scratches on the laptop, only 2 very minor dents on the speaker grill in front. (barely noticeable) CTechCity is the marketplace retailer for this refurbished laptop through Walmart. According to their refurbish checklist, this laptop went through 2 cleanings but I doubt it as I found dust and debris under the battery and in cracks and crevices. The screen was streaked and needed cleaning. The original battery was attached to the laptop and appears to be in perfect working order. An additional BRAND NEW battery was included, so that is an added bonus. They also included recovery discs for the operating system. Practically nobody does this anymore, so kudos for that!! Charger and cable are in good working order and does not get hot. The plug that attaches in the back of the laptop is straight, NOT the good L-shaped type. Does not fit as snug as I would like but it is acceptable. The specs of this laptop are amazing and even better than lots of new laptops on the market! For the price you just can not beat this deal, period. The hard drive is kinda low at 250GB but it's speedy at 7,200 rpm! Comes with 4GB RAM and is very quick. I purchased an 8GB kit of RAM and upgraded it immediately for only $37. Very easy upgrade. One stick of RAM mounts under the keyboard, the other stick mounts behind a panel on the bottom. (instructions online) Has an Intel Core i5 CPU at 2.53 GHz with 3.1 GHz turbo boost. (2 cores, 4 threads) NO WEBCAM but who cares about that?! DVDRW drive works well, needed dust blown out of it. Operating system is Windows 7 Professional. Has some nice HP software already installed too. (easily removed if you want to) DID NOT COME WITH ANY ANTI-VIRUS PROGRAM. Unless you stick in the 2nd recovery disk that comes with it and load a very old version of McAfee for trial version. I suggest downloading Microsoft Security Essentials for free. The FINGERPRINT READER works flawlessly and quickly! (amazing) What more can I say? So happy with this purchase. Hefty and sturdy laptop with amazing specs and a fantastic price!!
