Symptoms

Either installing or running E-Prime experiments on a Windows 10 (version , Build ) machine fails.

Detail

As stated in LICENSE: Downloading the latest HASP driver [], E-Prime requires the latest Sentinel HASP drivers for your license to work properly. However, having an older version or installing an older version of the HASP driver causes Windows 10 (version ) to fail. The following issues have been observed:

• E-Prime is installed on a machine that is not Windows 10 (version ). The HASP driver is not the most current driver. Attempting to update to Windows 10 (version )&#;fails. For more information, see bharathealthcares.com#msgdesc.&#;
• E-Prime is not installed on a machine. The machine is upgraded to Windows 10 (version ). E-Prime&#;installation is started&#;with an older HASP driver and fails. This often is accompanied by the Window error screen typically referred to as the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD).

Solution

This issue has been fixed in E-Prime a. Upgrade to E-Prime a or later.

This build of E-Prime contains a check for the most recent HASP driver (i.e., )&#;during installation. Additionally, the Support folder contains the updated versions () of bharathealthcares.com, bharathealthcares.com, and haspd_bharathealthcares.com

Workaround

These workarounds are intended only for those users who are unable to update to the E-Prime version that contains the bug fix.

Download and run the latest Sentinel HASP/LDK Windows GUI Run-time Installer from the Sentinel / Thales website&#;either before running the Windows 10 (version ) installation or before running the E-Prime installation on a Windows 10 (version ) machine.

NOTE: Be sure to run the GUI Run-time Installer&#;because the HASP driver command line installation fails as well.
