Hi ADK,

I have exactly the same issue since today. After postponing the latest WhatsApp Update until today, I was "forced" to do it. Once I clicked on "update now" I was forwarded to the MS website instead of WP Store. From the mobile website I could not download the latest WA. 

Trying the install via the Microsoft account (as recommended) did not work either. The website told me, that there is no device in my account which is suitable for the WA App.

So right now, I can not use WA and neither can update it. I will try an new install tonight. We'll see whether this solves the issue or not.

I know how are you feeling like...

I am still using my Lumia with WP8.1., because my husband has found the simplest solution:

uninstall the WhatsApp

without changing anything.

Then he went directly to WhatsApp website and downloaded this simply from there

So actually I am using again this bloody app. As for now...

How long? Good question.

The only positive thing:

I was almost ready to move to Android phone. I moved all my contacts to the cloud in Microsoft Account. Then I exported that to Google cloud. In case I will be again forced to move to Android, I will just import my contacts from Google cloud to a new phone. Some less work for the future.

My good God, there are the days when the technology means only wasting time.

Hi ADK,

uninstall and new install would have been my last option. But all of a sudden the update worked via MS Store.

So who ever has the same issue of updating WA: go to MS store and search for apps with updates. Then you should be able to select WA update. Worked for my Lumia 925 running on WP 8.1
