I upgraded my HP Pavilion dv2000's OS from XP to Windows 7 Starter's Pack and there are certain issues that I would want to be addressed.

1. My built-in Altec Lansing Speakers sounds horrible.
2. My built-in microphone seems incompatible. [Conexant something]
BTW, I have an installed Genuine Intel(R) CPU, T1350 @ 1.86GHz, 1.00GB RAM and a 32-bit OS

According to HP's website, the latest drivers of HP Pavilion dv2000 CTO Notebook PC are for Windows Vista. You can try installing the Windows Vista drivers in the Compatibility Mode and see if the issue can be resolved.

Also, make sure the latest Windows Updates are downloaded for your Windows 7.
If the issue persists, you can contact HP directly and confirm if there is any driver update for Windows 7.

And those issues would have to be addressed by HP since Windows 7 isn't supported on the DV2000 Laptop. What you could do is:
Find your laptop's exact model number, usually on the sticker on the bottom of the device.
Go to HP's website and get the Vista drivers for your hardware (they should work with Windows 7).
You're going to find you were much happier with XP than you will be with Windows 7 Starter.
